Toy railway
The first passengers were transported by YaDZhD on May 9, 1946. Then the passengers sat in wooden pastures, which were dragged by a captured German steam locomotive tank. The length of the path was 5.5 kilometers. But in 1957, the road had to be dismantled, and the rolling stock was mothballed: the highway got into the flooded zone during the construction of the Gorky reservoir.
A new YADR was laid in the Left Bank, in the Yakovlevsky pine forest. The length of the route was just over 3 km. The Eaglet train consisted of special small carriages. After reconstruction in 2008, the length of the route increased, and the rails with sleepers were also replaced.
Now the carriages were pulled by the modern Kolibri locomotive. Today, a school for a young railway worker operates at the YDZhD.
In it, pupils of city schools master the professions required on the railroad. The members of the circle have advantages in admission to specialized higher and secondary educational institutions. But taking a ride on the YDZhD, examining cozy platforms, playing on playgrounds is not all.
